20 years of history

The school was started by Mr. Sunil Rohta and Mrs. Kirti Rohta in the year 2003. With every passing year something new was added to the infrastructure, a theatre, a pool, a boxing ring , indoor stadiums etc. It is due to their sheer hard work and dedication that RCS have come to be recognized as one of best boarding cum day schools in Shimla hills.

Roots Collaborated with LEAD for classes Nursery to 8th Session 2023. LEAD curriculum is an integrated theme-based curriculum that follows a multi-modal approach to ensure the holistic development of children. It is benchmarked with NEL Singapore and is in line with the NCERT curriculum as prescribed by NEP 2020. Roots with LEAD focuses on transitioning students from pure, concrete learning to a blend of concrete and abstract learning. Roots strengthen the child’s early school years by developing strong thinking skills with the LEAD curriculum. Where English is taught as a skill.

Smart Classrooms

Interactivity is a great feature that enhances the interest level of the students in their class leading to more hands being raised to give answers. School offers the latest and updated digital content of Oxford advantage curriculum (Nursery to 5th Class) & Ebix smart class content (6th to 12″ class) in 22 smart classrooms. Powered by high-quality video and 2D and 3D simulation, smart steam deconstructs complex topics into easy-to-understand concepts. It ensures higher retention levels by using experiential learning simulations vivid imagery and glossaries.

National Cadet Corps

The school also has an NCC Contingent working under 7 HP (I) COY NCC SHIMLA. We have 50 vacancies and every year around 35 students from the 8th and 9th classes are enrolled in NCC. NCC Contingent of Roots  was awarded a trophy for “Best NCC Contingent” in CATC Camp held at Theog this year which was organised by 7 HP (I) COY NCC Shimla.

Cluster Games & Tour

Roots Country School, every year participates in cluster games and inter-school tournaments organized by the Central Board of Secondary Education at various places inside & outside the state. Our students have proved their sports acumen on different occasions and brought laurels to the school.
