Roots country school is a modern co-educational boarding cum day senior secondary school founded in the year 2003 under Society for Education and Environment Development. It is surrounded by lush apple and cherry orchards crowning Baghi valley in Shimla Hills. Education away from home has been a tradition in Indian society. We have a rich history of prominent educational institutions, imparting value based education for decades and generations.
The school provides unique features such as flexibility in curriculum, a fine focus on learning to think for oneself, unparallel Sports, recreational facilities, big playgrounds, carefully selected house parents and councillors, who provide social and cultural support. The school’s programme is designed to inculcate global thinking at the same time strengthening cultural roots. Personality development with strong stress on academic performance takes an individual to the pinnacle of success. The school campus is ideally self contained with its own school and hostel building and extensive playgrounds. Roots Country school has taken an initiative to be the first eco-friendly school of the country. The school has installed roof top solar production units (80 kw) that fulfill the 60% need of the maximum consumption of the schools electricity needs. The school has installed a sewerage treatment plant and a garbage treatment plant along with a bio-digestor plant. Waste water management with latest technology from DRDO and STP has also been setup. The school has a rain water harvesting project aswell and it is situated far away from the pollution and population of a city life, giving the students a chance to experience a clean and healthy lifestyle.

The Place
Baghi, a village panchayat in the Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, located on the old Indo-Tibet NH-1 at an altitude of 8884 ft. above sea level, with latitude 31.0983633 & longitude 77.1623898 as its geo coordinates has been a strategic route for army, tourists & locals. Originally, a part of Bushahar principality, Baghi was always an important commuting passage and a business centre for the surrounding local population. Its scenery and enchanting forest always attracted the famous dignitaries. Its charm has always drawn adventure tourists from India and abroad. Today Baghi is famous for its sprawling quality apple, cherry orchards, pristine natural surroundings and the holy heritage. Its secluded and suitable environment makes it a perfect setting for Roots Country School and it is a blessing to be a part of this holy land.
